Europe's 2012 Shooting Stars Introduced
Perfume, Germany Swedish actor Bill Skarsgard ("Simon and also the Trees"), Britain's Riz Ahmed ("Four Lions") and Anna Maria Muhe ("Love in Ideas") of Germany are some of the youthful European talents selected for that Berlin Film Festival's 2012 Shooting Stars showcase.Another up-and-coming talents getting involved in the 2012 Shooting Stars include Romanian actress Ana Ularu ("Lost and locatedInch), France's Adele Haenel ("The Demons") and Polish actor Jakub Gierszal ("Suicide Room").Most of the 2012 Shooting Stars are very well established within their home areas. Bill Skarsgard's thespian family includes father, and "Thor" star, Stellan Skarsgard and older brother Alexander Skarsgard of "True Bloodstream" fame. Anne Maria Muhe's parents were "The Lives of Others" star Ulrich Muhe and well-known German TV actress Jenny Grollmann. The Irish Shooting Star, actress Antonia Campbell-Hughes, made an appearance in Jane Campion's "Vibrant Star" as well as on BBC comedy series "Lead Balloon." Italian actress Isabella Ragonese has made an appearance inside a dozen features, including Paolo Virzi's 2008 comedy "Ahead" and also the 2010 drama "One Existence, Maybe Two" from director Alessandro Aronadio. A couple of next year's Shooting Stars, however, are virtual beginners. Icelandic soccer player switched actor Hilmar Gudkonsson had a little part in Clint Eastwood's "Flags in our Fathers" but his initial role is at Turin Film Festival champion "In Either CaseInch this season. And 18-year-old Swiss actor Max Hubacher had his first film role this past year because the lead in Mike Schaerer's cancer drama "Stationspiraten." His follow-up was Markus Imboden's Swiss box office hit "Promote Boy" this season.The Shooting Stars operates by European Film Promotion and happens between February.11-13, throughout the 2012 Berlin Film Festival (February. 9 -19).
